Comparison of Dungeon Writing Styles

29 Jun

A follow-up from yesterday’s post, though I would also share how I write up an adventure when using the computer (in this case, google docs):

Dungeon Notes

As you can see, I still use colours to highlight things, but the descriptions are shorter.

Do you prep adventures on your computer often? I’ve only ever done that when I wanted to get something published.

(Also: the link seems to go to this entry instead of the previous entry.)

Thanks. I’d forgot the and went back to add it and automatically clicked on the first link by mistake. I shall correct it :)

I prep on the computer a fair bit, mostly for my on-line game. I tend to write them up as if I was looking to publish them; I think it goes back to my early days when I used to copy how modules did it, and it’s kind of stuck. That said, my notebook notes are very different.

I like to (try to find the time to) write things up fairly formally like this, partly so I overlook fewer things, partly so that when I forget my damn notebook I can grab a copy and print it out.
