Dynamic Lairs: Bee, Giant Killer

“A dynamic lair is a small dungeon or lair, created in advance like a point of interest, which includes 1-3 encounters.” ACKS page 236.

Continuing the series of Dynamic Lairs. Last week was the Bear, this week are the Giant Killer Bees.

The Honey Trap

In the middle of a forest, a giant hive hangs from several trees, where Giant Killer Bees are abuzz. Inside the honeycomb tunnels is a larger chamber, where the Queen Bee and her personal Guards can be found.

Bees, Giant Killer x 18 [AC 2, Move 150' (50'), HD 1/2, hps 4, 2, 3, 1, 1, 1, 1, 3, 2, 1, 3, 4, 2, 2, 1, 4, 4, 2, #ATS 1 (sting), Dmg 1d3, SV F1, ML +1, AL N, XP 6; poison sting, save versus poison or die, stinger breaks off & deals 1 damage per round until remove, bee dies the following round; ACKS page 156].

Bee, Giant Killer Queen  x 1 [as above, except: HD 2, hps 12, XP 29; stinger does not break off, nor does Queen die after stinging].

Bee, Queen’s Guards x 10 [as Giant Bee, except: HD 1, hps 1, 4, 3, 2, 3, 4, 8, 2, 1, 6, XP 13].

The honey in the hive has healing properties, curing 1d4 hit points when consumed. There are 1d4 doses to be salvaged.
