Continuing my series of dynamic lairs. This week, the demon boar.
The Cabin in the Woods
In a clearing in the woods nearby the small town of Anchormere, lies a dilapidated cabin that was once a hunting lodge. It is the current lair of 3 shapeshifting Demon Boars, who pose as simple hunters, and prowl the woods during the day in their demonic boar forms.
Demon Boars (3): AC 6 (boar-form) or 2 (hunters), Move 180′ (60′) boar or 120′ (40′) human, HD 9, hps 33, 46, 44, #AT 1 (gore or by weapon), Dmg 2d6 or by weapon (1d6), SV F9, ML +2, AL C, XP 2,000; harmed only by magic or silver weapons, inflict lycanthropy by gore, charm 3/day at -2 save, failure means victim is mentally enslaved. They have short swords, bows and daggers in their hunters’ forms.
With them they have three enslaved ex-adventurers, who are totally mentally dominated:
Sven Ericson (Fighter, L3): AC 4 (chain), Move 120′ (40′), HD 3, hps 12, #AT 1 (by weapon), Dmg 1d6 (sword), SV F3, ML +4, AL N, XP 50.
Olivia (Cleric, L2): AC 2 (leather), Move 120′ (40′), HD 2, hps 10, #AT 1 (by weapon), Dmg 1d8 (2H mace), SV C2, ML +4, AL N, XP 20; no spells due to domination.
Henri (Thief, L3): AC 3 (leather, Dex), Move 120′ (40′), HD 3, hps 10, #AT 1 (by weapon), Dmg 1d6 (bow or sword), SV T3, ML +4, AL N, XP 50; thief skills.
Within the confines of the cabin is the following hoard of treasure (in chests, cupboards and so forth):
