Ruined City of Cyfandir

An adventure I wrote (after being given the premise, toys to play with, and a bunch of suggestions by Alex) for the Adventurer, Conqueror, King System (ACKS) game has been released into the wild. Comes in two flavours, ACKS and 5E compatible: Ruins of Cyfandir (ACKS) Ruins of Cyfandir (5E) From the blurb: Two hundred years ago, the elven capital of Cyfandir fell to the savage assault of the Great  Dragon Aisoth, self-proclaimed goddess and sovereign of the lizardmen who followed in her wake. The elves, occupied with the Argollëan War,

Book of Lairs: People & Places

My latest Book of Lairs: People & Places was published recently and is available here. This is my fifth Book of Lairs: People & Places, written with the Adventurer, Conqueror, King System in mind, but easily compatible with other similar old school fantasy RPGs. This book has ten ‘lairs’ and the NPCs that inhabit each, again on two-spreads: a double-page for the usual map/lair combination, and another double-page covering the NPCs and whatever treasure can be found. I have used stock art by William

Self-Promotion: Spire

My latest RPG book, Spire, is now available to buy. It was also supported by the people on my Patreon site, who got to see this as it came together. The book is a system-neutral setting/dungeon, 168-pages, largely in the same two-page spread style as my Books of Lairs. I’ll be adding game stuff on this site to supplement the book (new classes, NPC stats, and gaming mechanics as necessary). From the blurb: The Spire. A towering edifice a mile high and nearly

Lairs & Encounters: Bears

Back in 2016 the Adventurer, Conqueror, King System (ACKS) Lairs & Encounters book came out, for which I drew a whole bunch of maps. Ever since then I’ve wanted to draw more maps for the lairs in that book, but never really had the time, until now. Bears Four lairs: a hollowed out tree, a cave, a lair formed from boulders piled on top of each other, and a lair burrowed into the snow, with blood-stained icicles hanging from the entrance.

Lairs & Encounters: Bat, giant

Back in 2016 the Adventurer, Conqueror, King System (ACKS) Lairs & Encounters book came out, for which I drew a whole bunch of maps. Ever since then I’ve wanted to draw more maps for the lairs in that book, but never really had the time, until now. Bat, Giant A depression holds a stone door that leads into an ancient tomb, where giant vampire bats now use as a lair.

Lairs & Encounters: Basilisk

Back in 2016 the Adventurer, Conqueror, King System (ACKS) Lairs & Encounters book came out, for which I drew a whole bunch of maps. Ever since then I’ve wanted to draw more maps for the lairs in that book, but never really had the time, until now. Basilisk A gradual sloping pit, with four tunnels branching off to the lairs of a family of basilisks. The petrified remains of their victims lie crumbled at the bottom of the pit.
